Are there any restaurants that serve particular bland food? Or if you were eating off a menu, what would you suggest to be particular simple/bland?
I've got gastritis, recently developed. And am struggling to find things to eat, I'm going to attempt to go out with my hubby tomorrow, and have no idea what to eat!

lol. I may have to order extra extra hot then! ;)
Have you been told to avoid certain foods that might aggravate your condition?
If you like steaks ask for it plain, no pepper, no nothing, just a plain steak and then its up to you what you choose to put on it
sounds like fish wouldnt be too bad a dish for you, but be careful of any sauces.
mash veg and chicken
Sounds like the 'Goodness, Gracious Me' sketch - Going Out For An English and asking 'What's the blandest thing on the menu?'!
pasta with a very simple sauce.
No kidding Count A S - I went there once and had the hottest thing on the menu (with extra hot sauce) and it was feeble.
No, I do not, and yes this is a strange question. Food is supposed to be tasty, not bland. It is the opposite of what you would expect. That is a bit like looking for a car with the worst mpg you can get, or a computer which has the smallest memory, or slowest running speed you can find. Did stay in a hotel in Bishop's Stortford with very bland food, but can not recall the name of it, I am afraid.

Sorry I can not help you.
LOL yes I thought of that Wheaten...

Yep, you had a similar experience to me AP. Their food makes mashed spuds seem exotic. And I have to go there on Friday for a family get together. Groan.
Spaghetti carbonara.........
Can't you just dose up on tablets and enjoy a meal which you will be paying for? Failing that, make something you can eat at home but make it special with flowers, candles etc have a cuddly night in, watching a dvd and see what happens....
Go for a dish with chicken and rice. About the best food you can eat that is gentle on the tum.
I'd definitely go Italian - then you can pick a plain-ish pasta dish or a risotto, bread and butter for the table and ice cream for afters.
I agree with Lottie...a lot of restaurant pasta dishes-even those in cream sauces-can be rather heavy. Both chicken and rice are bland in themselves, and not likely to irritate.

Thanks for all you ideas, I agree with the italian ideas :)
And johnnyboy, it is a strange question. But when you get a lot of pain from eating something that isn't pretty plain then its pretty difficult. This could be a long term thing, so I'm gonna have to learn to go out and eat. And yes, I agree food should be tasty, my husband and I used to be chefs. But not at the detriment to your health.
