It might sound simple but ask one
I would say they would...

A friend just asked me because they want some for an experiment. I thought I may get an answer on here - a little late to ring up a pharmacist don't you think, although we might just do that tomorrow. Thank you for your "answer".

Thanks ummmm.
Is it for a pond, dietary, whaaaat?
In case my answer is taken wrong. I was saying I think A pharmacist would sell it.
I think a Pharmacy WOULD have Iodine, but as far as I can see(from Boots website) it would only be available on prescription.

No ummmm that sarcastic answer was intended for the first reply which was also sarcastic! Your answer just got in between. sorry. x

I've told my friend to ring the pharmacist tomorrow to ask, but I'm pretty certain they would sell it too.
Was my Boots link no good?
I've got a bottle of iodine in a 1960s First Aid kit which is still complete. I haven't a clue what it's used for though. Is it an antiseptic?
Can we ask what the 'experiment' is?

Actually, rephrase that ... what is the experiment?
Andy....the only time that I've ever used it is when I cut my foot open in Tunisia and that's what the hotel applied to it. No mention of maybe getting it stitched up....just keep putting Iodine on it...and stay out of the water.
Yes....a pharmacist could sell you some....crystals and solution.
