No, I don’t find it odd at all Chakka - and neither would you if you thought about it for more than 5 seconds. How would you expect anything to have been recorded, other than in writing, before the mid-19th century at the earliest? Any evidence prior to that time can only have been anecdotal and therefore the millennia you talk about are irrelevant. Furthermore, we have no idea what causes this phenomena. It could be something completely outside of our current sphere of knowledge, and if it is, then clearly we wouldn’t yet possess the capability of recording it. I’m not an expert, but I am acutely aware that we are very new to the world of science and have a very long way to go before we are even close to reaching our potential - and I’m absolutely gobsmacked that anyone should imagine otherwise.
Naomi - Please don't think I'm being anything other than serious now. I'm incredulous, but still serious.

Your statement, “I lived in a 'haunted house' for years, and our lives were disrupted in no uncertain terms on a daily basis - and our visitors were far from immune too...” has left me flabbergasted!

You say that supernatural (or unexplained / paranormal) events happened on a daily basis.

Did you ever think of calling someone about this? I don't mean your local priest (as if!) but the media? Even the local media would have lapped this up, particularly as it wasn't specific to you or your immediate family; any visiting person could well have experienced it. If what you're saying is true, you could have made an absolute fortune but more than that, you could have substantially furthered research into physical science in general and to paranormal activity in particular. I'm not being flippant, but did none of these things occur to you and your family? As you lived there for years, did you document these daily events with photographs, sound recordings, video, etc.?

Once you'd sold the property, did you keep in touch with the new occupants? If so, have they reported any strange goings on?
Birdie, firstly I should have said on practically a daily basis - we had the odd quiet day. To answer all your other questions - no.
Do any psychics come on here ?
Naomi -

“Birdie, you very clearly haven't read the thread but nevertheless it seems you're another one who's quick to criticise without understanding what's being said...”

Please refrain from using passive-aggressive debating techniques on me. It does you no favours and makes you look quite unpleasant. I have read and understood the entire thread and it is clear that you are suggesting that because science admits that it doesn't know everything, you think that you can shoe-horn in your belief in 'unexplained occurrences' – by which you mean a belief in ghosts, the afterlife and other such phenomena which falls into the semantic category of 'supernatural'.

“Your imaginations are every bit as vivid as those of the religious!” - The way you cling to your unproven and unprovable beliefs is far more 'religious' than any secular opinion I have ever come across.
