My daily work involves working with solicitors and police. I had cause to complain about a solicitor not allowing me to do my job so my boss wrote a complaint letter about him to the firms senior partner. In the response the solicitor told downright lies about me and what I had been doing. what would you do?

As long as your boss has your side of the story and believes you, then the other side is just trying to make excuses for his behaviour? or is there some substance to what he says (or does he think there is)? It depends how important it is to you - you could sue him for libel if it is important enough to you, but that is a big step. Do you have your boss's backing, can you prove you didn't do whatever it is the other solicitor suggests?

My boss believes everyone over her staff. And I have no way of proving I didnt do what he said, but its funny it didnt come up at the time, he did it after I'd complained about him.
