my laptop help

hi its the mad scot's lady who is needing help yesterday l asked for free virus protection and l gotta thank all who took time to get back to me , now l need a bit more help l wont change the free virus protection until this one run's out in 28 days l presume but right now my laptop is taking ages to do anything honestly just waiting for answer bank to come on was an age l am having to wait for the arrow on the screen to stop circling round now l know this means it is looking for whatever but even when it stops it takes an age please any idea's l love my laptop and would hate it lose it again l await for your replies with interest . thank you.x

What version of Windows are you running?

Have you a) cleared out all your history
b) cleaned up your disc
c) defragmented
your system can get overloaded with loads of old stuff and need cleaning

hi to hc4361, you would think l would know that but its clean out of my head l do know it was the one before windows 7.and to carandrog when you say history and clearing things out where would l do this ? do l need to go on computer also can l ask another question , when l am waiting for my internet to come on to the screen l am getting an update asking me to install adobe flash player please what does this mean and do l want it , thank you all for helping again l await your reply.
