I don't think so - you have to use a Royal Mail issue bike - if you can get one at all. I heard that bikes have been withdrawn, everyone's using the push-cart things nowadays.

our local posties still have bicycles...some use their own cars too.

Our`s use bikes too. I wonder how long it will be before they get Segways or are they too expensive? On second thoughts they`d probably be nicked.

Segways never unfortunately - they aren't street legal.

To the OP, seriously, I wouldn't consider it as a job, and am glad I'm out. It is unlikely that vacancies will come about easily anyway as they are cutting jobs, and if you do see any, chances are it's because no-one sticks at it. It is not a very nice job now, but if you wanna try, they are always using temps, so try to find out how you could do that.
