who can understand all the waste food they were on about just a few days after Christmas? for goodness sake, things like sprouts, parsnips and carrots keep for ages, I have a stalk of sprouts hanging on my shed (so the cats can't spray them) and they are as fresh as when i first got them two weeks ago there is no way they will be chucked out, and the remains of the turkey will be finished up today, its time there were a campaign to put a stop to all that, instead of telling people not to eat things after a certain date why not advise what can be done with it up to that date?

Vicasso, you really made me laugh. I cant understand that either - leftover wine. You can get these corks to put into wine to keep it for another day. Why would you do that? Happy New Year.
I had to give up composting, even garden waste because we were overrun with rats.....something the gardening programs never mention
People who have lots of money waste food, they have never had to make do or scrimp a meal. Would you throw a number of pound coins in the bin so easily!

pinkilady you are just the type I was refering to, surely you could have asked your mum what to do with the leftovers, or let her and the family take it home to be used up, there was just no need to chuck it all out.
