My Realtionship with my partner broke down over 6 months ago.

He owes me £17,000. Is there anyway I can get it back? I have also asked him to return the items that I bought him including a computer and clothes? We had no written agreement about the money?

How can I get it back?

Thanks,

i doubt you can without written agreements. And you bought him the computer and clothes. It'll be hard but you have to move on, start a fresh.
Have you got any documentation about the £17000 loan - a notebook or bank statements showing the money going across to him? Why did you lend it to him, was it for a particular purchase you can evidence?
hi, Has he ever paid you back anything towards it (this'll help prove it was a loan). It sounds to me like a solicitor's letter may be the way to go - sometimes it frightens people into starting to pay. Do you think he actually has the £17000? not many people have that much money lying around - perhaps he isn't paying you simply because he dosen't have it?

Hi All,

Many Thanks for your answers. I lent it to him as he said his and his dads business was in trouble and also for a car loan. I do have bank statements. His dad has advised that he never put the money into the business.

I know he has the money in his bank accounts.
