Hello, Currently have an old brick septic tank that needs replacing.

Looking at the onion shape tanks, don't want to go to the expense of a treatment plant!

Can anyone offer any tips or advice re tanks and soakaways?

Many Thanks

Why do you think it needs replacing SMH?
Quite often it's the soakaway that's stopped working properly. The old brick tanks usually had a soakwawy consisting of loose-laid clay pipes about a foot long. They never did last very long ............ probably silted up and bunged completely.
keep the old one! New ones need to be continually emptied and are in fact cesspits (or cesspools)... keep the septic tank and get it working. They are a very clever idea and are effortless to keep running once working...
