After 10 hours in a rather packed Manchester finishing work, Christmas shopping, seeing a friend off and trying to maintain my sanity I am finally done! Well, buying anyway!

Have you got everything ready for Christmas or have you still got stuff to do?

I need a serious lie down!

lol I haven't started yet. Today turned out to be disastrous. Hitting Tescos at 5am and then off into town.

Mind you, I might cancel Christmas, the FH has just completely changed his mind as to the food we had planned and is seriously over complicating what should just be a roast dinner.
He's a man Barmaid, you should ignore him
Hi Jenna .............. yep, all fixed. Just off to the local to get it all started.
Have a great Christmas, and I hope to see you again in 2011........... XXX
BM, just relax. I'm sure whatever he has decided to cook for everyone will be lovely. ;-))
I need mustard, and there is a distinct shortage in the shops of chocolate gingers - need a quick mooch tomorrow, then yes, we are done. OH and I don't have to go to work tomorrow either - yay!
So what are you all having for Christmas Lunch?

Oh dear! I have to say the shops were a lot better than yesterday! I seem to have missed out when they were giving out the girly shopping genes so was rather impressed with myself although I was seriously losing the will by the end!

Was in at half 9 to see a friend off on her train and really wasn't anticipating being out so long, I'm too picky but I like things to be right. Had a welcome work distraction as well though to break the shopping stress.

Hmmm, is FH cooking if he is being so fussy?
Turkey crown, mazie, and a boned rib of beef. Both nicely thawing at the moment!

Mmmm chocolate gingers! I was hoping for a decent day off tomorrow though still have stuff to do, considering I "finished until the New Year" a week ago Tuesday as I have taken sod all holiday, I have only managed 3 days without physically being in the office (including the weekend) and none without doing work...I am ready to drop!!!

I am definitely giving myself Christmas Day off though, I am hiding the work phone :)
I zipped myself out of the office on Tuesday nght (unfortunately had to go to a funeral yesterday) and the department is closed now until Jan 4. Thankfully therefore, not likely to get any work calls - bliss.
lol, I am getting very very close to saying "you bloody well do it then".

He'll have forgotten about his "ideas" by Christmas day anyway, so I shall just ignore him and do what I was originally planned.

Good for you :) Bloody cheek if you are cooking!

I'm having the mum version and she makes a gorgeous roast dinner, will help out as much as I can though. Will be the usual, turkey, veg etc... and then Christmas pudding and (me made) brandy butter. Looking forward to it already!
Good for you Barmaid x

I've just taken the turkey out of the freezer. Cooking the ham tomorrow. Roast Turkey Cristmas day. Turkey, ham and leek pie in a white wine sauce for Boxing Day. Then back to work :o(

Sorry, Builder, didn't see you there :) You too! We definitely need another reunion planning for next year! I can take you an updated profile picture then haha! xxx
I went into my local town today, and to Tesco - and if it hadn't been for the decorations and the Salvation Army band playing carols, I wouldn't have known it was Christmas. It was just like a normal day. I even got parked easily. I'm sure people aren't spending as they usually do.

I just have to collect my meat and vegetable orders tomorrow and that's it. I'm done.
Coo naomi, you were lucky, the cars were queueing right round the corner to get into Morrisons here - and Tesco was queueing for over a mile!

Wow! I have to say, it was nowhere near as bad as yesterday, I was pretty amazed! Tuesday was fine as well. My parents said the same about Shrewsbury today and saw someone on Facebook say the Trafford Centre was quiet and they are renowned for queues of up to 4 hours to get out of the car park around Christmas! I didn't queue much at all, even in Primark, Debenhams etc... I've seen far worse queues on a normal weekend.
