Last night we had the annoying salesmen turn up on our door. I usually turn them away but DH always let's them in. Anyway he let's them in and signs up to Talk Talk because they say they can save us £15 a month which is good but I don't want this to happen. The BT account is in my name and he's signed up in his name is there anyway I can stop this? If I ring Talk Talk to cancel I'm thinking they'll say I can't because it's in DH name. But then how would they be able to change my BT account if it's in my name? Help please.

Phone Talk Talk and point this out! NOW
Should be a cooling off peiiod when you can change your mind .Bt would have to be informed I would think before you can move .So as woofgang says act now before they act on this .If your name is on the agreement then it should not change with out your consent .
We changed to Talk Talk a few weeks ago. We had our calls with them anyway, but Mr Spudqueen changed everything (line rental, broadband) over to them. Since then it has been rubbish. Half the time we can't get t'internet, and if you should be lucky enough to get on line and the phone rings, it just cuts the internet connection.

Dear Husband
There is a cooling-off period in which you can cancel - but DH would have to do it. (Personally, wouldn't recommend TalkTalk no matter how cheap they are!)
I wouldn't recommend TalkTalk either, I had no problems until they took over from Tiscali. I only have broadband and phone calls from them, fortunately I didn't let them talk me into changing my line rental which is BT
You'll get a letter from BT saying they have been notified by Talk Talk that you want to switch your account to them and asking you to confirm this. Just say you haven't agreed to it and BT will stop the switch going thorough. Also get your DH to call Talk Talk and cancel.
Cancel now before they do their bit and issue an electronic tag to close BT BBand and open TTalk. (Migration process)
They (Talk Talk contract PESTS) have been hanging around my parents village too .. a couple of asian 'gentlemen' .. who claim speed increases, etc .. even want to come in and test the speed!
