Hey guys,

Me and 'Bigwig' have decided to start using the things we have in the cupboards rather then keep buying new stuff! We dont have a freezer where we live so keep having to go shopping most nights and its getting rather pricey - especially now we have a wedding to save up for!

He likes pasta, but is much more a fan of cheesey kinds of pasta, he makes a mean macaroni cheese, but want some variations if possible!

Ta all!

Simple but effective ... cook pasta, grate cheese on top ... nom nom nom.
Oh, I love cheesey pasta dishes!!!

Try adding some crumbled Stilton to a basic roux and simply pouring it over cooked pasta shells. Add some bacon if you like. (I normally use the cheesey pasta as an accompaniment to a few rashers of bacon but there's no reason why you couldn't actually put the bacon, cut into strips, in with the pasta).

I've just knocked that up myself without any reference to recipes but it looks remarkably similar to this, from the BBC website:

This looks good (and is well-reviewed):

I dice some onion ,crush a clove of garlic, cut up some bacon then cook them all together for a minute or so in a little oil in the microwave. Add to the cheese sauce.
Back in my single days, I used to finely chop up an onion and fry with some bacon or ham and a some garlic and mushrooms (peppers as well if i had any lying about), add some cream and then stir in chopped up austrian smoked cheese to melt in and serve over pasta - i'd chuck in a bit of white wine if there was any opened. bit of a mish mash, but it used up everything - no idea why I don't make it anymore.

Usually chuck all my leftovers into a pan and stirfry and add in rice, some spices and soy sauce - Mmmmm.
We do a tuna one in a casserole dish.

Spread a tin of tuna on the bottom, add a cup of frozen veg, whatever ones you like but we use peas and sweetcord.
Put boiled pasta on top and pour white sauce over it. Cover with grated cheese and brown in the oven. Serve with loads of tomato sauce!
