My daughter who is just over 3 months pregnant has been having severe headaches for the past 3 weeks and can last nearly all day.

She has had blood test etc which all seem normal and been told it could be her hormones.
Its this common among pregnant women?

at least she has seen her GP / midwife and they are looking into it.

it could be something as simple as stress, too much sleep (i could sleep 24 hours a day in early pregnancy) or dehydration.

It could also easily be hormones

Because more people respond in Chatterbank Sqad.

My apologies, didn't know you were a Monitor!!!
trt.....right......but more people will give more stupid answers in CB.

I agree with redcrx..................I assume her BP is normal?

What medication is she taking for her headaches? Has she has any past history of headaches?
Trt... congrats on the forthcoming new arrival!! is she having any morning sickness or other side effects? This may just be her bodies reaction to the hormones....
trt - I can remember having terrible headaches in the first few months of pregnancy - they did disappear and I also put it down to change in hormones.
My cousin is 21 wks now, and she's had terrible headaches every day. I think she's resigned herself to another 19 weeks of them too since nothing will shift them.

Thanks for your reply's folks.

She is in Hong Kong at the moment, due back next month, but she has had all the test possible privately in an American hospital.

She has not had morning sickness as such but feels nauseous, lost her appetite the past 4 weeks until a few days ago and maybe a bit stressed as she had a miscarriage last year when she was 2 months.

She is going to have a session of acupunture tomorrow, so will see how that goes.

Thanks once again everybody, I seem to be worrying more than she does, but I know how important it is for her for her first baby..
trt, if she's still getting them when she gets back, try one of these
