Interesting tactic to use answerbank to advertise your quiz, yet you do not want anyone to use the answerbank site to help with it.

i think we have had this conversation (such as it is ) before probably more than once. I have not said not to ask, merely to wait until the 26th, you obviously have a problem with that, so please dont send for one. That suits me fine and incidently, my last quiz asked the same (which you seemed to overlook, shame on you) and it worked very well, I had so many positive comments, they far outweigh your repetitive one anyday!!
Rant over....
I cant see anything wrong with quizmouse request I do the same with my quiz and I know there are a great many setters who feel the same. Whatever you do in life there are rules
and if you dont like the rules laid down by the setter dont do the quiz.
Similarly oddbody, if you don't like the rules of the answerbank, don't visit the site.

If anyone posts any of the questions, I for one will be happy to help where I can.

You can't have it both ways. "Buy my quiz answerbank but don't use the site" just doesn't work.
It does for most people that have some respect for others wishes but then what can I expect from someone who openly gloats at getting a charity quiz and not having to pay them.
Where do I do that?
Ah now that explains why you need to for ask for answers your brain obviously cannot retain things.
Where do I ask for answers to them?
Oh nope sorry I forgot you just ruin them for everyone else for the sheer pleasure of it.
But it doesnt alter the fact you gloat over getting a quiz without paying and you have no respect for setters requests for clues only. It was stated that if a setter made their wishes known people would respect that and I cannot see where it says setters cannot advertise on here if they request clues only but if it does please show me and i'll not advertise my quiz on here anymore but then you wont be able to download it for free.
Again I ask where do I gloat about getting a quiz for free? Can you back your insults up please.

Surely, you see what I am getting at though? It would be like asking to borrow someone's football but not letting them play the game. If you are willing to take from the site (advertising) you must surely be willing to give back to the site (letting them have a go)?
You gloated over getting Starlight dance quiz and not having to pay. Now you've accused me of giving answers under a different name on some halloween thread which I find extremely rude of you especially as I had never even seen the thread until someone kindly pointed out your obnoxious comment. I for one as a setter of 2 quizzes will not be advertising on here in future until whoever runs this site sorts out some sort of clear ruling as to whats acceptable on here. I hope other setters will do the same and can I congratulate you on yet again ruining things for a great many other people.
Do you have a link to this accusation? I merely pointed out that it was foolish to offer quizzes for free and trust that people will send entry money in. Nowhere did I "gloat" about it"

Clear rules have already been laid out:
http://www.theanswerb...g/Question859067.html

The part you need to read is:

"In Quizzes and Puzzles we occasionally have users decrying the posting of questions from a Quiz which has not been out very long or where the setter has asked those entering not to use site such as this. It is "dishonourable" to go against the wishes of the setter. However, we will not remove the question. This is a Q&A site after all. It is suggested that those wishing not to know the answer simply do not read the question."
Well I wont be advertising on here again while there are "dishonourable" people like you on here who have no thought for anyone and take their pleasure in ruining quizzes for everyone and then accusing people of answering under false usernames. I apologise for this to all the other decent users of this site who do respect setters wishes. Thank you for supporting Oddbods and Starlight and future quizzes will only be advertised on fundraising quizzes.
ok bye.
squarebear - you seem intent on re-iterating the AB rules - ask any question, etc. and using that to justify your attempts to ruin any quizzes, irrespective of the setters wishes (or whether advertised on here or not). Can I just ask then if you are the same "squarebear" who has criticised "cdwrover" for asking any number of obscure questions, which, according to the AB rules, he/she is fully entitled to do? If you are a different squarebear, sorry to think it was you. However, if you are the same squarebear, then perhaps you could justify your comments in line with AB rules on asking any question, that you are so keen to use in your defence?

You'll note the lack of a prompt answer then.... And surely this line which has been pointed out, says it all 'It is "dishonourable" to go against the wishes of the setter', no where does it say the setters are not allowed to specify rules? So, I feel I am well within my rights to simply request, a decent period of time to wait. I feel much happier now thats sorted. Also even without this site, I know from the little notes/comments which accompany my many returned quizzes that the majority of those doing the quiz agree, so there we have it. I cant see why you object so strongly, after all Its not me personally who either benifits or loses out its the charities and to my mind thats the important bit!
