Hello all,

I'm wondering what a local authority development manager actually does? I know its something to do with planning?!?

Any help would be great....

next My neighbour has an Ash tree right on the boundary. This tree is over 30 years old now. The roots have caused humps and hollows in my drive and I want to retarmac. Undoubtedly some roots will have to come out, but will any left in merely create problems

It's to do with development control i.e. making sure than planning permission requests fit in with the overall local planning strategy. They get involved with planning but tend to have a higher focus than the planning officers who look at the technical details of planning apps. Hope this helps.

I think the answer may actually be 'as little as possible'. It may be that we won't be needing any after yesterday.
