I'm here mrs.chappie, whats the prob?
Question Author
Ron, was it you I was chatting with about self-service tills a few months ago? (If you can remember that far back on here).
Could have been, mrschappie, was i saying that I weighed mushrooms in as onions as they are cheaper?
Question Author
Yes, summat like that, Ron.

I thought about you the other week. I was in Morrisons and a woman in front of me put two pomegranates on the scale. She pressed "onions" on the touchpad, but they were deffo pomegranates - it set off an alarm and an assistant came to help.

I chuckled as I did wonder if it'd been deliberate, but I also wondered how the scales knew they were pommies and not onions. They definitely looked similar. Do you think there is a way the scales can differentiate now? If not, why did an alarm sound ... what do you think?
Never had that problem mrs.c, and cant see how the scales can tell the difference unless somebody was watching as she does it all the time.
I still do it every week and get a bit of a zing out of it, even though I can afford the real price.
I do it on the leeks as well as they are very expensive :-)
Question Author
Perhaps so, Ron. It took a minute or so for anyone to come to her assistance though, so I don't think she was being watched. It was rather strange .... and they did look like onions too.

Have you ever done it in Morrisons?
Haven't got a Morison's where I live in Suffolk, only a Tesco and Waitrose.
Question Author
Anyhoo .... thanks for replying Ron.

Goodnight, sleep tight. x
