Foundation degree in Applied networking

I am thinking of taking this course part time in a years time. The reason being is that I hate working with people on a whole. I have done hands on jobs with no career prospects and really enjoyed it but when you enter the crappy career jobs like I am in now you meet total idiots. I can't stand it at all. So I want to open a business but at the same time need a 9-5 job and thought that working on networking would be ideal. Its got the technical interesting stuff and you deal more with systems as opposed to people. Has anyone any experience in this area and what sort of salaries are you looking at?

You're going to have to sell your services somewhere, which equals 'dealing with people'.
Haven't met a computer yet that drafts its own contracts or hires staff.

Don't do a course just because you think it will get you work. These days, competition is very fierce, in IT as well as everywhere else. You'll still have to deal with people when you start a business - how about your contact your local Business Skills Network and do some courses about customer relations, keeping your own accounts, etc., so you are ready to roll when you get your business started? I'm not familiar with your suggested pathway but an FD is a basic entry level course, not the same as a degree proper, and you will need work experience to draw on - the FDs we do in Health are very much workplace based.

OK thanks for the advice. Buidersmate I am not joking I would actually love to do that job... But I live 2 hours from the seaside unfortunately. boxtops my new business will include severe health and safety. What would you recomend course wise? My company will be dealing with Asbestos btw
