Spide vs oldexpat - Round 1

From the increasing paranoia I have developed since I asked about this spider I decided to wage war.
I started to plan a mission with the primary objective of eliminating the spider. I went to the shop and bought some Raid cockroach and ant killer. I then collected the hoover and waited for the spider to comeout. It didn't and this is what I could see:

On closer inspectiuon there were many dead ants and dead spiders underneith the web which was worrying. Anyhow I got some bleach and gave it a spray. It's immediate response was to retreat to the back of the cupboards. Seeing this I grabbed the Raid with my other hand and took a deep breath and started spraying. I sprayed untill I could not hold my breath anymore and I myself retreated.
Before I left the bathroom I sprayed all around the doorway with both bleech and Raid.

This morning the spider was nowhere to be seen. I sprayed around all the bathroom again this morning before I left to work.

Do you think I can rest assured the spider is dead?

Oh no... you are in trouble!

raid is an insecticide, it's effect on arachnids is to make them grow twice as large and get really angry.

No...... they breathe through spiracles that they can close....it might be 'holding its breath'.......
