How many households in your road or street where you live don't work?

In my small cul-de-sac there are only 2 houses out of 7 that work, most are single mothers on benefits.

none,,,,tho' some employ dodgy foreigners.
In our small cul-de-sac there are eight houses. 6 of the owners are retired, the other 2 are a married couple who both work and a single man who works. so we are not the national average.
I've recently moved so couldn't say exactly but an educated guess is about half the street (40 houses) work, the others are retired or single parents.
I would say most of my street either go to work or have retired, so I'm not a statistic either ;-0)
I've never been nosey enough to ask.

In any case folk on benefits vary from those determined to let others pay for them, to those who'd like to contribute but can't.
40 houses on my ave, id say about 30 percent are retired and the rest all work to my knowledge
I presume...can't be sure though, that most of the people in this street work. Or at least one of them. Some have young kids.
in my row we all work, bar martin who gets p1ssed all day instead
In my road, one person is retired, everyone else that I know of works but I don't know a couple of families that well.
Of 11 properties, 5 including mine are working couples, 2 are elderly ladies, and the other 4 don't work at all.
