There are four of us in the house who use the computer and we each have our own user account set up on Windows XP. For internet searches we each prefer to use Google. For some reason Google has ceased to function for user number 4 ' that is to say she can access the Google page and enter search terms, but nothing happens when she clicks 'search'. The same happens with Lycos, but she can get AskJeeves to work. None of her settings seem to be different from the rest of us and we can use it OK. We've tried deleting her XP account, rebooting the PC and starting her from scratch, but to no effect. Any ideas?

My first guess would be the same as yours: it is a corrupt profile. How did you delete it? Right-clicking My Computer, properties then deleting it from the User Profiles is the Microsoft approved way of doing it. I use Windows 2000 and my Internet Explorer sometimes plays up. I have found I can cure it by deleting then recreating my profile
