I have heard of someone who puts clothes pegs on their cat, depending on how good the cat has been.

The pegs, two or three, are placed on its neck (where a mother would carry a kitten) or on its belly.

I think this is cruel, but the cat doesn't seem to mind. What do others think?

Sounds sick to me, make them stop please
sounds awful and totally unnecessary, please talk to them and tell them to stop!
I'd be reporting them to the RSPCA!
I agree with everyone else: I think it's disgusting. Everyone who knows anything about cats realises they can't control them like dogs, it's just not possible. I would report them too, if I knew who they were. They don't deserve to have animals.
maybe other owners could stick one on their cat's arse when they go out at night, stop them crapping in my garden.

Yes ... we all know that mother cats carry their kittens by the scruff of the neck, but for humans to attempt to do the same you really do have to know what you're doing or else you can really hurt the cat. IMO it's just not worth the risk of trying if there's a chance to hurt it.

As for clothes pegs there ??? !!!!! ..... I'm sickened. How the hell that is supposed to do anything other than frighten th cat I don't know. And the belly of a cat is one of it's most sensitive parts.

Has the ignorant owner ever tried placing a peg on their anatomy, then removing it some time later ? Basically, the blood flow gets cut off, causing pain in the 1st instance but when you take it off, the flow of blood back to the area can be even more painful.

Cats don't have the intellect to decide whether they're going to be "good" or "bad". They can be conditioned to behave in a particular way, e.g: deterred from scratching furniture with a quick squirt of water from a toy pistol, but that doesn't hurt them.

Stupid pathetic people who "train" their animals through fear and/or pain should be reported to the RSPCA .

If you know who they are jilbai you should report them immediately.
Send the cat owners to me...I'll staple them to the wall according to how good or bad they've been.

i had to smile at PurplePixie's reply.

Jilbai       I have 3 cats and would NEVER dream of harming them in anyway. to train them to stop scratching, stop sitting on hamsters cage etc i use the water pistol method.

I find it very very unlikely that the cat doesn't mind as you say. i find it more likely the poor cat is so scared by what this person is doing that they wont make a noise about it incase it gets worse form of punishment.

Anyway, if it was me, i wouldnt have posted on here in the first time and used my time to stop this poor cat from suffering. Please ring the RSPCA and inform them, anon if it helps.

These people are not animal lovers if they do such a barbaric infliction on these poor cats, I'm a cat owner of three lovely not quite behaved cats and would'nt dream or doing such a terrible act, like Kelly24 i use a squirty bottle to stop whatever they are up to ie:- eating my vase full of flowers & scratching the furniture. How would these idiots like it if a bulldog clip or 2 was placed on their necks ( not too kindly i should imagine! ) Better still how about jump leads!..

If they lived round my way I most definately would have reported them to the RSPCA, and would have got earful off myself for their stupidity. this has made me so cross i will be thinking of the poor cats all day!!!.....   :-(

Send the owners around to me.. For every peg they've ever placed on a cat, I'll willingly punch them squarely in the face. Report these idiots to the RSPCA right away. They are obviously psychologically unfit to care for any form of animal. Just because an animal appears to accept the brutality doesn't mean it's ok to let it continue. Pick up the phone now and do the right thing!
If this is true, and you know this sicko, then you should report them to the RSPCA, and better still, dont have anything to do with them.  People like this deserved to be banned from having any animals, in fact they must be animals themselves.
