Can anyone recommended an effective way to get rid of red wine stains in a decanter? I've tried the Magic Balls, but the stain is still there. Many thanks.

Try strong Bleach and top it up to top of Decanter lip and leave overnight to soak
Pour in some white wine, let it stand overnight and see if that helps. Magic Balls sound intriguing

Magic Balls
Reusable small balls for cleaning vases, decanters and other glass objects.

£3.99

These are the Magic Balls obtainable from Lakeland. They're really good for cleaning but red wine might be too tough for even them to work their magic on.

Thank you for the helpful suggestions. Much appreciated.
Try Vanish with as hot water as your decanter can manage. Let it stand overnight if possible. I swear by Vanish. The other day I put a rather sad looking plastic chopping board in Vanish overnight and it came out looking like new.
Steradent (denture cleaner) and hot water.

Cleans tea pots as well.
