What is the most valuable painting owned in Britain? - i don;t necessarily mean most expensive one purchased - but rather the one that has an estimated highest insurance value

without asking the Norwich Union it's hard to say; but possibly one Van Gogh or another as these fetch some of the highest prices at auction. Picassos sell at huge prices too, but I don't think are many major ones in Britain.
I've just received via ebay a limited edition print of Garth Brooks based on a still taken in 1992 at one of his concerts, it's priceless
can you tell from the brushstrokes whether it's a Rubens or a Picasso, Dot?
it's an Etching I think, is he still quite valuable? he was all the rage in the 1960s.
true, no student flat was complete without. When curators used to come across a painting whose artist wasn't known they would attribute it to 'Van Esserbel'. This was a joke about Vanessa Bell who was Virginia Woolf's sister and a not very brilliant painter.
