anyone know what the rules are about building on greenbelt land... can you put a caravan / camp site on one as they'd be no foundations ???

I've heard this before about buildings without foundations not needing planning permission.

I think it is either outdated or an urban myth.

You certainly need planning permission which is normally based on the local plan for development which you should be able to get off of your cuoncil's website. Normally "green belt" development requires some overriding reason why you need it such as you need to be there 24:7 for your business

Just build whatever you want then apply for retrospective planning permission thats what folks seem to be doing everywhere and travellers throw up these mobile home parks with very static caravans (ahem!) wherever they like
