Hiya.
My sister is 18wks pregnant with her 2nd child. Last week she when for a 4d scan and found out she was having a boy, and everything was fine. Yesterday she started worrying that she hasnt felt the baby move for afew days. I told her it was early days to feel him move anyway, but she is adament that she felt him move before she went for her scan. She is now saying she doesnt feel pregnant and doesnt think her tiny bump has got any bigger. She is to scared to go the doctor incase she gets told the worse. But i think she is just gone into panic mode and everything is fine. Has anybody else felt this what she is going through??

at 18 weeks she could well have felt baby move.
But baby is so small that generally a lot of the movement wont be felt, the same if baby turns and is kicking her back.
Until 25 weeks or so movement wont be egular at all and to feel it mum needs to be laying down, still and quiet for quite a while at times.

My two were both most energetic when i was asleep according to Mr CRX. They would both kick all night and I'd sleep through it.

The middle part of my pregnancies were also when i felt the least pregnant, the exhaustion had worn off and i had energy and felt the same as i did before pregnancy.

chances are, because of those reasons, your sister is worrying over nothing, but she could call her midwife, they usually give out their mobile numbers or call the surgery, and they will advise her.

Thankyou very much. I will show her this post so she knows it ok. I think she is comparing this pregnancy to her last and she should because the last one was a girl and they are completley different.
has she thought of getting a heartbeat doppler thingy? At 18 weeks you could use one and be reasonably confident of hearing the heartbeat. I am 24 weeks pg and because of an anterior placenta, i barely feel much movement (more like swishes than kicks, not regular) I have an angel sounds doppler on which i have never failed to hear the heartbeat, and it puts my mind at rest if i haven't felt movem, ents for a while. The ones you can buy in argos and MC are rubbish though, and you cant use them till later in pregnancy
