My 60+ London days included some of these mums. Single/married women couldn't get mortgages, unmarried mums were treated with disdain. No Gov financial assistance & the Pill wasn't easily available.

This story would be heart-breaking for them.

It's a great shame that a serious question from tambo, a posting worthy of discussion, has almost disappeared in yet another string of chat about who is who and why - etc. I don't see the point of all this speculation and multiple-name postings. Sorry tambo, I thought your OP was really interesting.
I was just making conversation, Isac. You seemed friendly, so I responded in kind.

Don't worry, I shan't bother again.

thanx those who did respond......I find it's mostly male adoptees who seem more determined to ignore their natural mothers. Most females need to know about their genes, more so when they have their own children.

60s mums in that predicament maybe at the bus stop, bus pass in hand; or even crochety, leering old dads on here ?
Original Posting, tastymorsel :-)
Original post. Unfortunately I haven't been able to click on the link supplied so can't make a comment.
Perhaps the question would have been better posted in B & S. Chatterbank posts quite often go off topic.
