I wonder if any of you could help me identify a plant please? I'm not sure if it's a weed but it's quite pretty!

It looks a lot like chives, I know it sounds mad, but it has very long stems, say about 2 ft long and has no leaves along the stem and has what looks like a flower at the end, rather like a cross between the flower on chives and a 'red hot poker' and is pink to dark pink.

Any ideas anyone?

could it be this one - primula vialli? - one of my favourites, growing in my garden at the moment! http://www.rainyside....s/primula_vialii.html

that looks a lot like the ones growing in our garden Boxtops but the flower is a little rounder and I've just been to smell it and I'd say that it smells like a cross between curry and ash!!
Could it be one of ornamental onions? Sounds a bit like allium sphaerocephalon. The leaves may be wide like garlic or narrow like onions. On the one I mentioned, grows to about 2 ft tall, flowers deep pink in July and flowers at the top of the step like an elongated cone shape.

Hi Katmakenian, you are very welcome, glad I was able to help. Yes, they are pretty, come up every year and quite sturdy in most weather conditions. Only logged on today so a bit late answering you, regards, Foxyferret
