Has anyone used one of those gagets that compress wet newspaper into bricquettes for burning? Are they any good, are they worth the work? etc. etc. Thank you

No idea, but I reckon at 99p, it's worth a go :-)

These things do work but you will find that it is a time thing. You have to produce the bricks and then they have to dry out. If you have an airy storage area there will be no problem. I would imagine you would have to build up a stock of these bricks during the summer and use the in the winter.
You would need to obtain the papers from somewhere as well.
It could 'take over' your life.
A neighbour asked for all our newspapers as a friend was doing this and found it really worthwhile, especially stocking up for winter but I agree it probably depends on how much time you want to spend doing it
An old lady I knew years ago tried that one.
They take ages to dry, so these briquettes are stood about all over the place drying .. and the mix of mash takes a lot of doing ... and makes a mess.
Not worth all the time and effort if you ask me.
Better off digging your own peat.
PS Unless highly compressed, they burn up in no time too, so you will need a hundred I suppose, for a winter night in! : )
