I'd be grateful if someone could help with the last couple. 10 down - 'Working at anagram of "mirage"? (4,7) I am totally puzzled. I have F-T-/M-R-A-A (assuming AUSTERE is correct for 23 across). Can someone put me out of my misery please?
Also 24 across - "pocket piece for tavern worker" (6). I have P-T-A-. I assume it's potman because of the sense but can't see how the clue fits.
Finally, I assume 2 down is sparrow but don't understand the clue 'odds on pointer finding a bird?'
Any help gratefully received.
