England is a nation of overweight, binge-drinking reality TV addicts

pretty much sums it up
I love how we are all tarred with the same brush!
I enjoyed mine on Saturday, and the drink too...and I'm still a size 14 at 63 yrs old..lol
I'm not English.............lol
They've forgotten the : Lonely wierd types, sitting hunched over a computer keyboard fabricating identities for themselves to hide their shallow disappointing lives behind.
can't see much to argue with there. Some of it's good - eg the queues. I remember, in the scrum to get on a bus in Paris, hearing two old Fench ladies muttering that they wished people would queue the way they did in London.

But the driving is often poor and yes, people are overweight, including me, though that's hardly unique to Britain. The national diet does have a lot to do with this.
Or it could be the laziness?
no way, jack, I come on here to tell the whole world about my shallow, disappointing life.
Never mind Jack, I don't think you have been completely forgotten, because look I have answered you.
In that case, jno, I'm sure that you are not alone..........
(Not that I believe you for one single moment :o))

is the highlight of my life.
all I can see is a blank space, Ankou... must be a mirror
I just don't get the whole queuing thing.Ok so they don't queue on the continent so it's every man for himself is it? So if I shin scrape and elbow my way to the front that's ok is it? I'd always just go straight the front and push in. So I'm confused because here must be some sort of system on the continent or it would just be natural selection. So I think queuing properly is the only way to avoid anarchy.
It is certainly push and shove from what I remember when trying to catch a bus in Normandy. It was just a crazy free for all.
I stayed at an Italian run resort in the Maldives a few years ago and therefore most of the guests were Italian.

The food was buffet style and the Brits dutifully queued and started at one end of the buffet and worked their way patiently to the other end, whereas the Italians were just diving in and out of the queue randomly to load their plates.

Difficult to have a moan when we were very much in the minority and it is just their way of behaving - in fact, they probably thought the Brits were mad for forming an orderly queue.
Some Germans tried that with me i the queue. Once I'd demostrated how a queue works by shouting at one of them they seemed learn how to queue very quickly.
