Connecting up an xBox

Hi guys,
I want to connect my xBox up to the internet (about time, yes!), but I'm going to need a longer cable to connect it to my modem. As I'm moving soon, buying a wireless router and an adaptor for the xBox is going to be a large waste of money and my time, so I just need the cable.
Am I right in thinking I can just use a Cat 6 cable for the job? If not, which one should I use? I checked the one that comes with the console but the printing on it gives me nothing to work on.
Thanks in advance!

Cat 5 innit? How long is your run of cable? If its above 10m I'd seriously consider buying a pair of powerline adaptors. These devices plug into your electric sockets and turn your ring mains into a network. They worked a treat when I was online with the 360
Cat5, cat5e or cat6 will be fine, and you can go upto 100m with any of them.
Ive got a 20m Cat5 cable connecting my Xbox up and it runs fine!
