I've got Virtualdub, I want to cut films shorter/in half, I'm not very technical minded, is there any where I can get step by step instructions?

No problem at all!! Its really quite easy. Im assuming that the film is in DivX or avi format, as that is what i use Virtualdub to cut. First load the film in question, and make sure you set both the audio and video processing modes (In the respective menus) to direct stream copy, instead of full processing mode. Then Use the bar along the bottom to position the start frame of the film, and click on the left hand of the last two buttons at the bottom. (the ones that look like half and arrow) This sets the start. Move the bar to the end frame, and click on the right hand of these two buttons, to set the end. Finall click File - Save as Avi, and name the film. In 5 or so mins, it should be done. Hope that is clear. If not, go to http://www.virtualdub.org/ as they have plenty of help there.
