Day case.
General anaesthetic
Operating microscope.
Insertion of Grommet tube, in the ear drum...half way in and half way out.
Operation takes 10-15mins.
Patient goes home same day with no effects.
Tube stays in for between 6 and 18 months.
Comes out on it's own.
That's it folks.
