I'm glad that others are fascinated by the world we all live in. I often find myself in a state of awe and humility at this world we are so privileged to inhabit. There has recently been a series on Channel 4 called 'Genius of Britain' which highlighted the achievements of British scientists and engineers who have shaped the modern world. In it, Sir David Attenborough says, “... The world is full of wonders, but they become more wondrous when science looks at them.”

As far back as I can remember, I've always believed what Sir Attenborough has succinctly stated – nature itself is the most beautiful, strange, and stunning reality that can be imagined. To look at an object or an occurrence and simply dismiss it as being the work of God has always seemed to be an inadequate way of viewing the world. To me, the 'God' answer is the easy answer; it requires no work or logic. By saying 'God did it' you can 'answer' any question put to you. I find that totally inadequate, unfulfilling and unsatisfying.
