Does anyone else have a problem when downloading and installing Microsoft Windows Updates.
Today I had 16 Updates to install and the whole process took 1 hr which includes re-starting PC.
Why on earth does it take so long. I have Vista Home Basic and each time there's a batch of Updates it's a slow frustrating process ! duh!

How fast is your internet connection?

Goes without saying really, but if you have a slow connection then the updates will take a long time to download.

Hi Chuck ! I checked my internet connection the other day with the BT link you recommended to someone else and my download speed was 7.5 mb which I suppose is pretty reasonable.
Everything seems to work fine apart from these Windows Updates which are very slow !
i'm on orange 20mb download but pulling 16mb +

I switch my PC off completely every night so it's a possibility that when I do Updates first thing the next day, they clash with the Computer set-up procedure which takes place at the same time. Computer response during this time tends to be slow so there could be a conflict. At other times however my PC is far more responsive.........
