Can anyone tell me how to get candle wax of my favourite black T-Shirt?

I tried pecking off as much as possible and then washing it but there is still a large amount that seems to be 'attached' to the threads of the t-shirt and can't be pecked off.

I've only worn the t-shirt twice, please help!

Now then, I've done this a while ago, but can't remember the exact way! I think I put grease proof paper on top of the T shirt and ironed it, thereby melting the wax and soaking it into the paper. The reason I'm not sure is, I might have put the grease proof paper inside the Tshirt, then ironed, anyway someone clever will answer hopefully. It is possible though!

This is the same problem that anyone has who makes a Batik print.  That is a way of building up layers of dye on a material using wax as a resist.  When I did this, I used the following sequence:

1.  Iron repeatedly between 2 sheets of brown paper until no more wax uptake is evident on the paper.

2.  Wash the material in white spirit.

3  Give the material a hot wash with detergent.

4  Repeat above steps as necessary.

Kim and Aggie did this on How Clean Is Your House last week, the grease proof paper and Iron is spot on.

Thanks everyone, I'll give it a try tonight!

Probably a bit late with this. I didn't have greaseproof paper so used kitchen roll and iron instead.  That worked a treat getting candle wax off a cushion cover.
