s.o.u.l.?

I used to have a copy of a 70s tune which was about 10 minutes long.  The whole first half was a spoken story about a guy who was rich but said "with all this money there's still something missing from my life" followed by "what it is, what it is, tell me what it is".  The guy in question kindly informed him that he was missing "S.O.U.L."  Any idea what the song is?  It's been driving me mad for ages and the all-powerful internet has yielded no results thus far.

The only spoken word song I know of is 'If', by Telly Savalas, Number 1 in 1975. perhaps look up the lyrics now eh?

I thought of that song... But it does not last 10mins and as far as I can tell does not have those lyrics.

I have drawn a blank as well.
