Bishop André Joseph Leonard, Bishop of Bruges, says he is "seeking forgiveness" for ...

... "sexually molesting a young boy".

Ooooh ... you're seeking forgiveness?

Well, that's alright then.

I mean, we wouldn't want anything bad to happen to you, would we?

Like ... being arrested for sexual assault against a minor !!!

Anyway, good luck with the "seeking forgiveness" thing.

It's the respect thing that gets me. Why should these people feel they have a right to demand respect? Because they claim religion? If they worked in any other area, they'd be banged up and placed on a sex offenders register for the rest of their lives - and rightly so.
About time something was done about this and it takes an atheist to do it!!
It never ceases to amaze me how automatically defensive I feel....

Especially when I see my name typed....although I hope to God that James Moriarty is no relative of mine.
If you count Northern Ireland as part of the UK then it definitely is going on. Lots of priests have seen the inside of prison cells because of their abuse of children. Just this week a priest was bailed on charges of molesting 3 young sisters.
The church is rotten from the head down.
