Hi i have recently split with partner due to his abuse towards me (which he currently waiting sentence) after being together for 6yrs lived together, have 3 kids together but never married!
I am trying to sort his stuff out to help me move on but i am confused about what how it all works legally!
I am happy to give him his personal belongings but how do i go about working out whos is whos and splitting assets?
For example we have just sold house abroad which i contributed finacially and physically but it was only in his name - am i able to claim my share or able to claim share on behalf of kids to be put in trust fun rather than him blow it all!

Im not money grabber far from it but i dont see why after all he has put us through he should walk away with everything living it up and me and my kids have nothing!

And do you not think that there is a chance I might have checked it out before?
And you talk about facts but advise people to tell lies....you're some cookie you are.

You will always get something ...

1. to reflect any money that you have put in yourself, and

2. for the children.
No angel. Paying towards the bills do not count. You cannot expect to live for free. If you rented a house you can't claim anything from the landlord because you paid the bills.

The only way you have an 'interest' in someone elses property is if you paid for big jobs to be done...ie renovation, and you can prove it.

Hi all thanks for your replies.

I spoke to IDVA @ women's aid and she has advised me that 6yrs is a magic number apparently i am entitled to stake a claim. I have since spoke to solicitor who is looking into case the main problem is how to prove when you actually started going out together!
I have got all receipts from money ive paid to property so we shall see what happens i guess. My kids may get some early inheritance after all!

By the way the property we sold is in Turkey - seem to have law to themselves over there tho!
What did you pay?

If you read my reply ummmm, I said they're are 'plenty of ways to skin a cat'. He hadn't admitted guilt when I replied & that admittance can be re-tracted in Court.

As for lies.....it's called bending the truth.
No it's not bending the truth. It's lying.

If you read his question again...properly this time...you will see that he said he's admitted everything.
ok.....have it ur way :)
Haha...did you just check the question and realise that you are in the wrong?
