bit of a russian roulette thing then...wouldnt fancy my nerves holding up on the first flight
Would not be surpised if everything changes
About 6 months ago a documentary about a British Airways 747 flying to Australia went right through the middle of a plume of volcanic ash, caused all 4 engines to cut out, when they got to about 10000 feet the engines restarted and it landed safely, all paint on the outside of the plane was stripped to bare metal. This Icelandic volcano is only a baby compared to what this plane went through. The same documentary wether purposefully or not was shown again last night.

I'd forgotten that, razza. That's what they were saying yesterday, the pilots can't see the cloud until they're in it.
damn, I have enjoyed relative peace without the USAF stooging over the house and the airliners.
Do you live in Norfolk barmaid
No - Peterborough. But not a day goes by without there being a couple of jets dog fighting over the house. Not sure where they are from though. And they are SOOOO noisy.

I don't mind the harriers which used to be at Wittering, but these things make it impossible for me to work outside because I can't hear what is being said on the phone.
Its near enough to Norfolk, they are usually F15 from Lakenheath and Mildenhall.

We get two nasty-looking jets flying up and down the Channel from time to time, low level, Just realised they've not been around either. By the time you hear them, they've gone!
I was underneath 4 of them taking off together at Hickam air force base in Honolulu, never heard anything as noisy.
Typical Razza! When I lived at Bury I was directly in the flight path for Lakenheath or Mildenhall! Now they have followed me. I wonder what I have done to upset the USAF?
Boxtops They will be part of 24 hour CAP, combat air patrol which fly around British waters.
Bury is a long way from flight path to Mildenhall or Lakenheath.
I meant Bury St Edmunds!
Although I don't actually know if these planes were going in and out of Lakenheath and Mildenhall. Could have been Honington I suppose.
Ah yes lol
