sorry, don't have a digital camera to post a picture but will do my best to describe plant/shrub. Medium size, approx 6ft - has very twisty, tortuous looking reddish trunk with untidy bark - the leaves are about 2-3inches, grow in clusters and hang down - also has clusters of white bubbly like blossom and seperate very striking bright crimson and white flowers which are just beginning to open. Was given two last November, they were in leaf and kept their leaves throughout the winter. It looks rather like a very large bonsai! Really weird and quirky shape and very beautiful. Was told they were (?) pirseaus or perseaus - have spent the last thousand years googling with no luck.
