Hello again, I wonder if you can help me once again. During my childhood my father spent more than a little time at one of her majesty's establishments, Wandsworth, Scrubs and Maidstone are the ones that I know of. How can I get his prison records. He died in 1986 and there are no living family members left of his generation or above. Longevity is a thing my family enjoy. Also I know he spent time as a patient at Bexley Hospital which, of course, is no longer there. I would like to know why he was there too and for how long. Any help would be gratefully apppreciated. Many thanks

It will be unlikely that you will have access to his prison records, but it is possible you can perhaps gain access to the records of the magistrates court where he was sentenced or the crown court even, if it was more than 50 years ago, or you could maybe look through the local paper to see if any of his cases made the news locally.
