...windup? I think it's just posers showing off to the viewers how much their house is worth ( a 2 bedroom terraced in Hemel Hempstead), which when combined with their savings means they got £1 million to spend (yeah right!)

Yep hate these types of show and the ones that buy a second home abroad!!

Oh me too pood - I just reach for the remote when the second home ones (in fab weather abroad) come on
Just watch it for the locations etc! Agree all posers with no intention of moving! I would like to move to the country !! but will still put as my home is my castle!!
I'm watching More 4 Grand Designs (for lack of anything more gripping), this is pretty posey as well, they are building a house which is costing more than £1m. Not real life but I suppose we can dream...
I love it......especially when they show them houses nothing like specified and way over budget...........I could do that.

Wouldn't we all oscarina - just wouldn't want to make myself look a pr@t on TV in order to do it!
I totally agree with poodicat.
I watch it but then im interested in Buildings and Design. I prefer Grand Designs but its not the real world and im always jealous when someone has £40,000 to spend on a Kitchen! One can dream though!
I loathe these programmes.

Nearly every one i've seen would be my dream home given half the chance, and yet you get these people walking round them pulling it to bits and critisizing it- it's drives me bonkers.
sooper, i worked with a client who spent £120k on his kitchen. and yes, it didn't look it.

anyhow, i get irritated by these programmes. in grand designs they always go over budget by about £200k and then 'magic' up the extra cash from somewehere.

why do kirsty and phil need to go and revisit people they helped 3 years ago. because then they can just slap 50 minutes of repeat and then spend 5 minutes going ooh aah, you;ve got a sprog now.

and whats all this crap about needing to buy two places ? showing off ? probably.
jno jnr has been watching house progs like this for years. He has now got himself a flat and is totally refurbishing it with ideas he has picked up. (He is also doing a lot of it with his own hands, including ripping down walls and building new ones, having observed how it is done.) It's well on its way to looking absolutely stunning. So though I don't watch this stuff much myself, it's definitely got an educcational function.
i think those ones are fairly ok jno (except the doomy gloomy unroomy sarah beeny ones)

but the 'i want to buy a large/two large houses and i am too lazy to look so can you do it for me so i can expose my riches' ones are annoying.
