Every now and again, if i have been walking a wile, my left hip starts to ache, it feels like its the ball joint. Someone has said i could develop arthritus there, if i went to the docs (my hip probably wouldnt be hurting, typical) dya think they can do anything to prevent / slow it down?

It could be arthritus, but it could be a million other things too.  I have severe pain in both my hips and my lower back at the moment, and it's all down to a twisted pelvis.

If it is arthritis, there are many drugs that can help as well as dietary suppliments and exercise like pilates and swimming.  I would def get it checked out - depending on your age and lifestyle, you may have to push to get the doctor to refer you.

im 23 yrs old, female office worker. Not overweight but not THAT active.

It could be my fault tho, i can sort of click my hip, so i could have aggrivated it. i dont do it now.

i was just worried that if i dont get the symptons whilst at the consutation they wont know what it is.

on my next neccessary visit the the docs i will get it checked out.

have you seen my other post....i look like im falling appart!

See my reply to you regarding your chest pain :o).

i get really bad hip pain, but that's down to a problem at birth, and my hips have always given me gip (I'm a poet!).

I'd tell your doctor about it- it may be nothing though! Make sure you keep the area supple by doing lots of exercises, and keep your back supple too. Your doctor will have some suggestions for you.

Good luck!

Even if it doesn't hurt when you go to the doctors ,I would still get it checked out.Insist on an X-ray.This will show what it is or isn't as the case may be and then you can get the appropriate treatment.
