18 dn: Rock, I'd say, in case of "garage" is not middle of the road. I have worked out that it is the anagram of IDSAY in between to letters But the case of garage is GE. I think the answer is WaysidE. Has anyone heard of GaysidE? An explanation would be appreciated.

Thanks for that Kayakamina. Never knew about the link to garage music but I am of a certain age!
playing around with this - what of GARSIDE - the obvious anagram pinside the case of garage = GE. Thinking northern dialect etc, as I say just playing about
thought cassidy was a better answer as anagram of idsay and cs, as david was middle of bthe road.Kayakamina's ideas ok too so take your pick of three
I'm still baffled by this one. K is the absolute Master re crosswords, but I can't find any link between Wayside and garage music. I like the idea of "in case of garage" being "GE", but that leads me to "Gayside". Never heard of that either. Aaargh!
Yep, I thought 'gayside' as well, except that it does not seem to be a word! Guess it has to be 'wayside'.
