3 tiny puppies drowned. I wouldn't have thought Brits were responsible, and certainly hope not. The mind boggles. There are so many animal charities here - PEPA, SPAMA, etc... so why couldn't they have asked one of those charities to take them in. Even if those responsible had dumped the little mites on their doorstep, at least they would have had a chance. I just feel so upset and down.

NoM - poor you - that's awful - I can't even watch a film where an animal is filled!
Doc - you're just a softie aren't you ?
Oh god hun...thats just awful. I hope alfie gets lots of cuddles today xx

Bless you, Doc. Every little helps, doesn't it !

PEPA do a book sale in Barx every month and so I often have a clear out of books, dvds, etc.
The Spanish have never had a big love for any animals have they? I always assumed over there they were either for food or "sport".
Question Author
Alfie is spoiled rotten, bless him. He didn't seem too perturbed by what we found, so that's a relief. xx
Awwww, that's a shame you saw that. I hope the day gets nicer and you feel better soon. xx
Question Author
Well historically, Boo, the Spanish never could afford to feed themselves, let alone animals. That's obviousy changed in recent years, but mentalities haven't. The younger generations seem to be walking around with little toy-sized dogs now, and are protesting against the bull fighting, etc. But what concerns me is that the Fallas came to an end last night with the lighting of the bonfires, etc and so a lot of alcohol was probably consumed down in the pueblo. Who knows what happened to the little pups?
What a shock in finding those poor little mites NM - the fact they were drowned is horrible but to leave them on a beach where kiddies could see them is even more sicker.

When I was in Portugal me and Mr. Den bought cat food and adopted a few cats that used to sit on our ground floor balcony, the maid that came in to clean our room used to give us the evil eye - I suppose she was thinking 'soppy Brits'.
Question Author
Hi Den. When I first stepped onto the beach, there was a guy there with his two young kids and a golden retriever type dog and he must have seen the two little black pups, as they were quite near the water's edge where he and his kids were walking. The white pup I found first was not even the same breed which is quite puzzling. But anyway, I hope he will contact the police and tell them.
