Our local pub is celebrating St. Paddy's day by giving all of it's customers a free portion of Irish ham hock and Colcannon (Mash mixed with cabbage & spring onions) which they say is an Irish national dish, Bearing in mind that they will also be celebrating St. Georges day they are asking customers what they consider to be the English national dish, So quite simply what is it ?

Ohhh, now sausage mash & baked beans sounds realy good!
I think it has to be roast beef ('les rosbifs' is the french counterpart to us calling them 'frogs'.........I wonder what they'll come up with as a response to 'cheese-eating surrender-monkeys' ?........anyhoo.......) followed by jelly and ice-cream.
Nooo... Pudding has to be sticky toffee pudding!
