snooker term and snooker is played at the Crucible

Thanks Mamyalynne - I didn't realise it was a snooker term - I get it now.
"In off" is when a ball (usually the white ball) goes in a pocket by mistake after being struck by another ball and the player is penalized. It goes IN the pocket after coming OFF another ball.
