Just lately when I open up almost any application on my P.C., I hear a dull clicking sound coming from my tower.  I assume it's my hard drive, does any-one have an idea what this is and is it a problem?

It can last up to about 15 seconds, but it does vary!

Many Thanks in advance.

Bruce. I should be a bit wary. If it gets worse, suspect the possibility of eventual hard-drive failure. I would suggest you do a back-up of any valuable data onto a flash drive or something of that nature. Better sure than sorry.

Its either the PSU fan  catching on the grill at the back or the CPU fan is catching or the hard drive is mapping a bad sector ( indicates the drive is on its way out ) new HD within 3 months
