Honda don't make the rotivators - they merely make by far-and-away the best 4-stroke small engines that manufacturers then put onto their own rotivators.
Since you say you can't run to a Honda-engined machine I have few suggestions - Briggs & Stratton, perhaps?
Question Author
thanks for that Bmate , but have you any idea as to engine HP?
Not really. When I want one of these (once a year) I hire one from the local hire shop. I hire the biggest they've got - I think they refer to it as a 13HP, but it might be a 10. I have pretty clayey soil and the smaller machines don't do a good enough job.

13 hp goodness it must be like a tractor !! The soil is really good as it's
has loads of manure etc , think I will have to pick the brain of one of the
old boys on the allotments to see what machines they have . But many
thanks and will a good look on line to see if I can buy a rotovator with
a B/S engine. Happy gardening .
Like builder I hire one for the day------35 quid , once a year -- no worries, from local man . Enjoy your gardening .
Hi, Have a look at www.mantis-uk.co.uk This is an excellent little machine, I've had mine for a few years and wouldn't be without it.
